UV Filters: Octinoxate, Uvinul A Plus, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide & Tinosorb S.

My ingredient list on the box is slightly different from Ratzilla's. Basically, on my box, Tinosorb S is the 11th ingredient, but on Ratzilla page, it's on the 9th. Ratzilla's version also has additional ingredient called 'polymethylsilsesquioxane', but this isn't listed on my tube. So I think there is a reformulation (?) I got mine pretty recent actually (April 2020, I got mine locally). The packaging looks the same as what Ratzilla has though.

I realized I never mention on my post before. I use gel nail manicure UV Lamp to get the picture. I apply the sunscreen, then turn on the UV lamp and take picture with the UV camera (Sunscreenr) with my arm under the UV lamp.

Preparation

I applied the sunscreen on my left arm, wait for 20 mins and take a photo using UV camera (Sunscreenr).

For experiment purpose, I'd just cover from back of my hand to somewhere around my wrist. I'd leave my wrist area as comparison. Takes time to set, and on my arm (and face), it doesn't dry down matte as you can see from the photo. It also leaves whitecast, since it has zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. And the glowiness also can give some kind of brightening / white cast effect.

I could be using too much, since it's a cream consistency, but this is how I usually do my body sunscreen. I'll draw a straight line on the exposed area. I don't measure it.

For example, I want to apply from elbow to back of my hand. So I'll draw a straight line from my elbow to my back of my hand. If it's a cream product, I'll spread and rub all over my arms (outer and inner part). If it's a liquid product, I'll spread it just on outer arm (facing outwards). I'll draw another line just for the inner arm (facing the body), as I think liquid product has lighter mass

Powdered Over

This is a very glowy sunscreen for my oily skin. I looked like putting a liquid highlighter all over my face so I definitely need to powder it down (else people from the other galaxy can see my glowing face LOL it's that glowy on me). I used RCMA Translucent powder with make up puff like this

Powdered vs non powdered
Powdered area looks less shiny

Powdered section looked less shiny under UV camera and I think the sponge absorbed the sunscreen that hasn't set/dried up.

Look at my sponge:

Rubbing under Running Water

It never claims to be water resistant, so I did 2 variations:

Rubbed lightly under running water (like when you are washing our hands):

Lightly rubbed under running water

Rubbed vigorously under running water:

Removal with foaming body wash

I tried with my foaming body wash from Shokubutsu. I'm surprised to see a hint of lingering sunscreen

Removal with foaming DHC Cleansing Oil

Remove with DHC Cleansing Oil

Of course, it can remove the sunscreen thoroughly. It's my HG for a reason. This removes all sunscreens that I have tried without residue. I don't use 2nd cleanser anymore, and I had tried wiping with stridex pads afterwards and the pads had literally nothing (no residue icky yucky stuff).

And quite the contrary, when I used 2nd cleanser afterwards, the stridex pad actually had yellowy gunk on it (I think of it as cleanser residue), no point for me to use 2nd cleanser.

Reviews / Thoughts:

If you like glowy looking sunscreen, you will like this. Bear in mind about the white cast. A lot of people said it doesn't have white cast, so I'm not sure what formula they have, but it certainly has white cast on me. And it's only 40 grams product.

I have oily skin, living in humid tropical southeast asia and I can't appreciate the finish. I definitely need to powder this a ton. It has zero oil control, gets even shinier than initial application. Not a fan.

That being said, it wasn't as bad as La Roche Posay Shaka Fluid - you can see it from my post. This Canmake sunscreen is considered amazing for an alcohol-free sunscreen (now, it makes me wonder what's the point of high alcohol in the Shaka Fluid?!)

I don't like impractical sunscreen* though, as I need longer time in the morning to get ready, since it doesn't have alcohol. For reference, I have minimal routine in the morning: cleanser > benzoyl peroxide > (water-weight DIY) niacinamide serum > ONE drop of Timeless Synthe6 or Matrixyl 3000 serum > sunscreen. So it's definitely not due to my skincare interfering with the sunscreen dry down time. I use around 2 fingers length, with the thickness on the photo I showed on initial application.

As I'm working from home now, I can use this sunscreen (no need to rush out in the morning). But when I'll start working on-site again, I won't be using this. I'll be using my alcohol containing AB sunscreen(s) as they are quick to apply. Plus since this one doesn't claim to be water or sweat resistant, I can't wear this out. Our climate here is too humid (~96%) and hot to be wearing this.

*PS: I always let any sunscreen to set for 15mins before I step out the house. It's just that the application process is taking too long with this Canmake sunscreen. I'm actually quite a patient person when it comes to skincare lol. On average, I spend 10 mins to apply face and neck sunscreen (in a 'take my time' manner). Another 10-15 mins to apply sunscreen on exposed arms and feet.

In case anyone is interested, out of the bunch of sunscreens that I have tried, my current office/outdoor days sunscreens are: Biore UV Oil Control Base (face only, it's tinted), Skinfood Sunflower No Sebum gel (my post here), Anessa Perfect Milk (2018 formula - my post here)

About UV camera

Disclaimer: I only use this to see if a sunscreen disperses an even layer (or patchy and spotty); and if I miss out a spot during application. It's not by all means to measure the sunscreen protection level. Got mine from sunscreenr.com. It's compatible with android phone.
